Guidelines for Web Hosting Service

Any college or office under the University in need of hosting of their college/office or official project website (micro sites) can avail of the said service.

General Procedure

The letters below should be submitted to the ITC Director for approval.

  • Letter request for hosting
  • Hosting Requirements Form (Download here)
  • For requirements deviating the recommendations stated below, a letter request explicitly citing the deviation

Classification by development

  • ITC developed
  • Non-ITC developed
  • FTP Access

Generally, FTP access to the web site is not given to the requesting office or web site owner if hosting is provided by ITC. Even if the site is set up by ITC and the client wishes to gain FTP access, it is recommended that the requesting office secure their own server or web hosting.

As a Subdomain of UPLB.EDU.PH

All UPLB-hosted websites are all subdomains of the uplb.edu.ph. However, for externally-hosted websites who have URLs different from UPLB-hosted websites, offices can still request to bear the uplb.edu.ph for their respective websites (www.______.uplb.edu.ph). In this case, redirection will be done by ITC to the URL of the website. It should be clear, however, that the management of an externally hosted site is not the responsibility of ITC.

Site Mirroring

Mirroring sites is not included as a service of ITC.

Although static (non-database driven) websites using plain HTML can be accommodated, ITC recommends Joomla! for content management.
